Upper Beaches Addition

Basement 780 sq.ft. | Ground 780 sq.ft. | Second 574 sq.ft.

The 1-storey addition to the existing semi-detached house adds 252 sq.ft. to create a family room off the kitchen and dining room. The rear wall was opened up to flow into the addition while skylights and a side window bring natural light back into the existing rooms. A custom built-in wall holds the TV, a gas fireplace, and storage space. The rear french doors walk out to a deck that overlooks the backyard. The basement of the addition is open for storage but has the potential to be used as a bedroom in the future. On the exterior, the monoslope roof helps to create a vaulted ceiling in the addition. The side wall was angled to maintain access for parking in the rear yard if needed in the future. The shaker style siding will blend in with the neighbour’s addition and is accented with a wood soffit.
