The existing two-storey house on the property lacked a garage and had a dated exterior. In order to resolve that, a 2-car tandem garage was added to the side of the property with a ground floor bathroom to act as a changeroom for the pool in the backyard. The extra width of the garage allows for adequate storage down the side and the rear overhead door allows for equipment to be easily brought to the backyard. The vaulted ceiling in the front of the garage allows for the ability to add a car lift and stairs lead up to a loft over the back of the garage which looks over the backyard. The loft functions as a studio or man cave and walks out to a balcony. On the exterior, the existing house’s brick was painted grey and the siding was replaced with a dark grey siding. Wood slat accents were added as well to create a contemporary look to the house and blend the addition in to create a cohesive look.
