Forest Hill Revamp
Basement 917 sq.ft. | Ground 1269 sq.ft. | Second 1183 sq.ft.
This Forest Hill home had remained close to original to this day and was in need of a redesign to bring it up to modern living practices. The 2 separate staircases and oversized landings were impeding on the usable floor area of the home and the tight hallways and doorways made it feel cramped. The floor plans were reconfigured from top to bottom and the stairs were condensed into the rear corner of the home for maximum efficiency to access the multiple levels in the home. The basement was rearranged to include a bedroom with a larger bathroom and a recreation/workout space with an ample amount of storage room. The ground floor was reconfigured to have a larger entry foyer with a powder room and study. The kitchen was opened up to include an island with a direct connection to the living room and a pass-through to the dining room to create a stronger relation between the rooms. The kitchen and living room look out onto a plunge pool in the rear yard. The rear portion of the garage was converted into a sunken den which provides access from the garage into the house. In order to create a luxurious second floor, one bedroom was removed. This allowed for a primary bedroom retreat with two walk-in closets upon entering the bedroom and a 5-piece ensuite with a free-standing tub and water closet. The 2 other bedrooms each have their own ensuites. A laundry room was added upstairs as well. The openings on the front of the home were left as-is in order to maintain the original character of the home.
