An existing 2-car garage on an expansive lot was demolished to make way for a new 2-storey garden suite. The ground floor maintains a 2-car garage with a rear door to easily bring equipment outside while also creating a foyer to the new suite. There’s also a sunken powder room which connects out to the pool deck in the backyard. The powder room doubles as a pool change room and there’s also an outdoor shower behind the suite. On the second floor, there’s 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom along with an open kitchen/living/dining space. There’s a laundry closet and storage cabinets tucked into the sloped ceilings of the second floor. A raised ledge over the staircase allows for more kitchen counter space along with the movable prep counter. The exterior facade follows a modern farmhouse style with white board and batten siding, black windows and doors, and black raised seam metal roofing. The undersides of the overhangs are clad in cedar to add a touch of warmth. Since the driveway is shared with the neighbour, privacy fencing was added along the pool area along with a planter with tall grasses.
