This two-storey laneway suite was designed to take advantage of a corner lot by creating oversized windows facing the street to enhance the interior living space. The suite fits in 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a 1-car garage and open kitchen/living/dining space. Since the suite is narrow in nature, storage areas were created to make the most of underutilized spaces such as under the stairs, over the stairs, and above the kitchen. Privacy is maintained to the homeowner and tenant by having minimal windows facing the backyard. The exterior facade is an attention grabber with a unique interlocking cladding look which carries into a lane facing balcony and backyard canopy overhang. The composite red cedar siding contrasts with the dark grey siding below. The oversized windows and balcony door flood the kitchen/living/dining space with natural daylight.
