The 1-storey addition to the existing 2-storey house adds 277 sq.ft. to create a ground floor bedroom and bathroom along with a new entry point to the rear deck. The rear wall was opened up to flow into the addition and the vaulted ceiling makes the space feel larger. A custom built-in wall holds a TV, bar sink, and closet space with a high window above to bring daylight in from 2 sides of the bedroom. The basement of the addition is open for storage but has the potential to be used as a bedroom in the future. On the exterior, the monoslope roof defines the addition which otherwise blends with the style of the existing house by using matching siding and window trims.
